Would I Rather Scroll Away My Life, Than Start Taking Action?
Have you ever gotten stuck in a cycle of planning and never quite started your writing? You scroll through social media intending to find inspiration, only to realize hours have passed and the blank page remains untouched. You tell yourself you’re being productive by brainstorming and outlining, but deep down, you know it’s a form of procrastination.
This cycle is a trap many writers fall into. The truth is, that planning is important, but it shouldn’t replace action. The ball starts rolling when you decide to take action, and then it will start to roll by itself due to Newton’s second law: the law of acceleration.
Imagine wanting to be a great musician. You wouldn’t just research music theory all day, you’d practice your instrument! The same goes for writing. Daily writing, even for short periods, sharpens your skills and keeps you sharp.
Sometimes, the best way to figure out what you want to write is to simply start writing. The act of putting pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard) can spark new ideas and help you discover your true direction.
