Just like a dahlia, a simple flower bursts forth in a kaleidoscope of colors depending on the soil it calls home, so too are we, humans, shaped by the environments in which we take root.

Dahlias, with their intricate genetic composition, showcase the diverse ways a single species can express itself. Rich, red blooms might thrive in iron-rich soil, while delicate pastels appear from higher levels of calcium. These environmental influences are a mirror to our own human experience.

We, like dahlias, are not pre-programmed with a singular identity. Our personalities, values, and even interests are a product of the world around us. Engage yourself in a community of passionate athletes, and you might find yourself lacing up your running shoes, not just for the exercise, but for the connection and sense of belonging.

Surround yourself with individuals who prioritize intellectual pursuits, and you might find a desire for knowledge you never knew existed. The people we choose to be around, the places we visit, and the experiences we gain all contribute to shaping who we are.

Unlike flowers, however, we possess the wonderful ability to choose our environment. We can actively cultivate the surroundings that nurture the person we wish to be.
