This Might Be My Most Important Post Ever.
“About what?”, you may ask:
Self-awareness.
However, it’s not the general “know how good you look”, or the “you need to know your whole identity”.
Before reacting to this, I want to add that it is essential to know these things, but I want to bring up another aspect today.
We’ve all probably experienced those moments when life feels like a numbness of dissociation, tossing us about with little control.
For example, when you all of a sudden lash out at your parents, or when it gets hard to breathe when you are talking to a certain type of group of people.
It is frustrating because in these cases, thinking twice before reacting just isn’t an option.
When the feelings of regret, anxiety, and self-hatred becomes even stronger.
Therefore, it is important to step back and remove yourself from the situation triggering you.
Breathe.
Take your time and ask “Why did I feel so angry?
What is the situation that triggered the feeling of this anger and hatred?”, or “Why is my body reacting this way? How can I fix this?”.
