Ugh, relationships. They can be amazing, sure, but sometimes you end up knee-deep in confusion, wondering if what you’ve got is actually love or some weird emotional rollercoaster.

Been there, worn that sequinned disaster dress on the night I realized things were, well, not exactly a rom-com. So how do you know if you’ve actually struck gold or are clinging to a fool’s paradise?

Let’s be honest, love shouldn’t feel like a constant battle. Here are some red flags that might mean you’re in a situation that’s less “happily ever after” and more “happily ever…alone”:

The Giver and the Taker (Not the Good Kind)

Imagine this: you put in all the effort, like planning dates, remembering their obscure coffee order, and basically reminding them you exist. If the relationship feels like a one-woman (or man) show, it’s a sign things are off-balance. True love is a two-way street, with both partners giving and receiving.

Possessive? More Like Obsessive!

Love shouldn’t feel like being on a leash. Does your partner constantly blow up your phone, get jealous if you talk to literally anyone else, or try to control who you see and what you do? Yeah, that’s not cute or flattering, it’s controlling and a major red flag.
