Brand Yourself With The Concept Of Association.

A recent conversation with my team about preferred fashion styles sparked an interesting realization about the nature of brands. I realized that a brand is essentially a psychological connection between two or more things.

For example, Chanel is closely associated with luxury.

Wearing a Chanel suit or carrying a Chanel bag immediately brings this association to mind.

This idea goes beyond the fashion industry.

It applies to individuals, businesses, and even entire industries.

Think of a tech company known for innovation or a car brand associated with luxury.

These connections are deliberately developed, but they also occur naturally.

The outfits we choose, the items we buy, and the businesses we are associated with all play a part in how others see us.

It’s a subtle form of communication, a visual language that conveys a lot about our identity or the identity we want to embody.

In this sense, personal branding is much like corporate branding.

It involves shaping how others perceive you.
